How can you claim that it was hard to find a civilized campsite in our own country where you could truly appreciate the pleasure of traveling this way? On every level of this, there have been developments in recent years. More and more people are choosing to own or rent a motorhome and traveling to explore the nation’s natural splendors. Here are a few places in Romania where traveling in a self-drive won’t leave you feeling like you’ve missed out if you skip your hotel or hostel.

The Ielelor Garden
is a 6-hectare area located in Sâmbăta de Sus, Brasov, which is home to a campsite for tents and caravans, a glamping site and an events area. There are fire pits, dining areas, running water, showers, toilets, solar panel lighting, kitchenettes and even an artificial lake with fish and crayfish.
2. Camping Fain
is a great place, as the name says, if you want a quiet vacation in an idyllic landscape. Situated in the heart of the Gurghiului Mountains, less than 50 kilometers from Reghin, the campsite was built especially for people who want to live free and in harmony with nature. You can come with your own caravan, your own tent or you can stay in the tents already set up, there is also a tavern where you can get food and drinks and even a snack bar. 
3. Vampire Camping
is also in Brasov county, on an area of over 35,000 square meters. You have access to electricity, showers, toilets and laundry facilities, as well as 2 restaurants, a pizzeria, a bar, access to barbecue and even breakfast. Bicycles can be rented if you’ve never had room for them in your caravan, and there’s free Wi Fi too. 
4. Blue Lagoon Complex you can find it in Făgăraș and it offers everything for everyone, from 20,000 square meters for camping with access to sanitary facilities to sports fields – for football, tennis or volleyball, 3 lakes for fishing, restaurant, events hall and swimming pools for children and adults, slides and trampolines.
5. Camping Vuurplaats
is in the beautiful Bucovina, in the village of Fundu Moldovei, on the banks of the river Moldova. You have access to electricity, showers, toilet, washing machine and dryer, Wi Fi, games room and a library.
